Solidarity: Key to ensuring dignity for migrants and refugees all over Europe

Solidarity has to be placed at the heart of Europe’s migration and asylum policy by incorporating a rights-based approach based on a more efficient responsibility sharing system and improved harmonisation of protection standards among member states. The opening of legal humanitarian corridors is urgently needed. This is the main reason why we advocate for equal access to public and social services for those arriving in Europe, especially health and care services, education and housing on equal grounds, as stated in the Charter of fundamental rights of the European Union.

More SOLIDAR recommendations on migration, the EU Action Plan on the integration of third country nationals and case studies on the situation along the Western Balkan Route and in Greece can be found here.
