Corina Cretu: ‘Cohesion policy more needed than ever’

The only policy which has direct links with regional authorities, with citizens, is the cohesion policy, and this is why it is more necessary than ever, says Corina Crețu, the European Commissioner for Regional Policy.

Cohesion policy has been “under attack”, because there is a lot of money in it, she says. But she argues that despite Brexit and other priorities like the need to respond to the refugee crisis and the terrorism threat, EU leaders should preserve this policy, which has given results in every corner of the Union.
